The ethos at Allandale House is to accommodate, in a therapeutic and loving environment, individuals with a broad base of need.

The range of need is summarized below:

  1. Physically frail or disabled persons requiring 24 hour care and supervision from carers trained in areas of personal care, mobility, continence and catheter care, nutrition and pressure care.

  2. Individuals requiring 24 hour supervision, observation and support due to varying stages of dementia or mental illness.

  3. Long stay mentally ill persons who need support and supervision yet can continue to maintain and improve their quality of life when in a therapeutic environment.

  4. A further group of people emanating form the community, who would previously have been directed to EMI or nursing homes would be referred directly to Allandale House with a view to preventing deterioration of the personality and motivation that can accompany admission to a larger clinical or institutionalised setting.

Within these categories there are a conditions that we have specialist abilities in treating. Some of these are listed below:

  • Dementia
  • Mental Disorder
  • Learning Disability
  • Physical Disability
  • Past Drug Dependence
  • Past Alcohol Dependence
  • Terminally Ill
  • Sensory Impairment
  • Old Age (not falling within any of the categories above)

This list is not exhaustive and we aim to treat and assess each person on an individual basis.  Please contact us to have a discussion or arrange a consultation.
